Experience the thrill of real falconry as keen Harris’ Hawks and Goshawks fly from your gloved hand in pursuit of fit, wild hill rabbits in the spectacular Yorkshire Dales countryside.  Only when hawks are hunting can you truly appreciate their speed, agility and determination. Anticipation and excitement is guaranteed in this action-packed experience.

Price £80 per person. Available from 1st September to 28th February only (we do not hunt rabbits through Spring and Summer as it is their breeding season). Maximum of four participants on each experience.

Please note;  Participants and spectators will need to be reasonably fit as this experience involves hill walking (and climbing the odd dry-stone wall!!).

Goshawk chasing rabbit.

Full-Day Falconry Experience.  Available from 1st September to 28th February.

After an introduction to our team of trained raptors, you will have the opportunity to learn how to handle and fly various birds from our collection in the local countryside. You can expect to fly a Harris’ Hawk, an Eagle Owl and one of our Bald Eagles. After completing the morning’s handling and flying it’s time for lunch (included). The afternoon is spent flying Harris’ Hawks or Goshawks at the local rabbit population. Occasionally, our ferrets are taken along to bolt rabbits from their warrens so the birds can pursue them. It’s great fun to witness this fascinating sport as the Hawks do their best to try and catch the wily rabbits of the Yorkshire Dales.

Juvenile Goshawk chasing rabbit.
